Christmas Markets

One of the many delights of Christmas are the Christmas Markets, and London has plenty of them! Whether you go for the heart-warming food stalls, the festive atmosphere, or the artisan gifts, a Christmas market is a must-do activity each year. Imagine a mulled wine (or cider) in one hand, a mince pie in the other, listening to joyous carols as you buy presents for your loved-ones. It doesn’t get much merrier than that!

Our favourites are Sloane Square, bustling with Santa’s Grotto and a Bavarian Curling Rink, and Pimlico Farmers Market filled with the tastiest festive treats! Both just moments from our hotel doors and available until 24 December 2022.

Christmas Shows

London theatres are back to their best, ready for this year’s Christmas performances and we couldn’t be more excited! Whether you’re looking for a traditional pantomime, a dazzling night at the circus, or an enchanting ballet performance, there is something for everyone.

One of our favourites is The Nutcracker, performed at one of London’s most iconic buildings – the Royal Albert Hall. This captivating production, featuring Tchaikovsky’s sumptuous score, is the quintessential Christmas treat for all the family. What makes it so special, is that it was created exclusively for the Royal Albert Hall, with gorgeous period costumes, stunning lighting, and dazzling projections.

Anya's Grotto

Located just next door to The Hari, is the Anya Hindmarch Village on Pont Street. This little village is made up of different stores, home to all sorts of quirky projects. The most wonderful of all is ‘The Village Hall’ – a shop that transforms into something new every couple of months.

Currently you can expect to see Anya’s Grotto, where they are taking you on a magical expedition with Father Christmas this festive season. Find your way through moonlit forests and crunchy snow – before meeting enjoying a story read by Father Christmas himself.

Anya’s Grotto will be welcoming children of all ages (recommended for ages 2-8) from 14 November to 24 December.

The Gingerbread City

Marvel at five entire cities made of gingerbread this winter with The Gingerbread City at The Museum of Architecture in Belgravia. Now in its sixth year, the exhibition features expertly crafted cities created by more than 100 architects, designers and engineers. Made with dough, sweets and icing, these mini-city masterpieces will depict five edible cities across different climate zones: polar, continental, temperate, dry and tropical, exploring our desire for more liveable cities where most everyday needs can be accomplished within a 15-minute walk, cycle or trip on public transport.

Edible and festive, a visit to The Gingerbread City is a must-do this Christmas, open from 3 December, 2022 to 3 January, 2023 at 6-7 Motcomb Street, Belgravia, London.

Ice-Skating

Experience the thrill of ice-skating at one of London’s magical ice rinks this winter. You can skate surrounded by sparkling fairy lights nestled in frost-covered trees, and cabins serving heart-warming beverages with the whole family (even if you’re like Bambi on ice!).

Sadly, The Natural History Museum’s iconic ice rink is no more. However you can choose to glide at one of London’s most picturesque locations – Somerset House. Spin around the neoclassical courtyard with views of a giant Christmas tree, surrounded by music from DJ soundtracks. Afterwards, warm up with an indulgent hot chocolate from Hotel Chocolate, or sip on a cocktail or two in the Moët & Chandon Skate Lounge.

Dates available until 15 January 2023!
