What's On in London April 2023


Winter is finally over! The sun has put in a few appearances, London’s green spaces are in full bloom and the capital is starting to get busy again. From the 4-day bank holiday weekend, food festivals, and art exhibitions – there’s plenty of activities for the whole family.

THE LONDON COFFEE FESTIVAL


Celebrate London’s bustling and vibrant coffee scene from 20 – 23 April as you sample coffees from around the world at this years London Coffee Festival.

Expect to see Latte Art live, industry talks, cocktail masterclasses and more, whilst listening to the sounds of Matt Smooth as he plays his weekly hip hop radio show ’Never Dug Disco’. This year the festival is also using reusable and compostable cups!

AI WEIWEI: MAKING SENSE


Visit the Design Museum from Friday 7 April and marvel at Ai Weiwei’s newest exhibition: Making Sense. 

Weiwei is one of the most significant and recognised artists working today, known around the world for his powerful art and activism. His work spans across art, architecture, design, film, as well as collecting and curating, making the exhibition accessable for the whole family!

EASTER AT THE HARI

ST GEORGE'S DAY IN TRAFALGAR SQUARE


Celebrate all things English on Sunday 23rd April, from 12 – 6pm, at ‘The Feast’ in Trafalgar Square. Last year, over 200,000 people attended the celebration, and this year is expected to be bigger and better! 

Hosted by British television presenter, actress, and Heart radio broadcaster, Zoe Hardman, this family event will include an afternoon programme of live music, walking entertainment, family activities, and traditional food stalls.

SICILYFEST


Dreaming of a sunny holiday is Italy? Curb those cravings at SicilyFEST: a four-day celebration of all things Sicilian taking place on April 20-23!

Taking place at the Business Design Centre in Islington, guests can expect some of the finest Italian wines and treats, including fresh pasta, pistachio delicacies and Sicilian chocolate to name a few. You can also watch Masterclasses from Michelin-starred and Sicilian Chefs.

A WALK THROUGH BELGRAVIA


Talk a walk through one of London’s most beautiful neighbourhoods and delve into the history of Belgravia’s most famous residents. CANDLELIGHT: 100 YEARS OF WARNER BROS


Warner Bros. celebrates 100 years of storytelling! To celebrate their 100th anniversary, they are partnering with Fever to bring to life some of its most iconic songs from its most beloved series and films.

on April 15, the Southwark Cathedral will be filled with thousands of candles as a magnificent string quartet plays iconic soundtracks of Warner Bros. films and series. It will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime candlelit concert!

PETER RABBIT ADVENTURE


Who doesn’t love Peter Rabbit?

On Wednesday 22 April visitors can embark on a magical journey with Beatrix Potter in The Peter Rabbit™ Easter Adventure at Covent Garden. The square will be filled with fresh flowers, fruit, and vegetables as little ones are tasked at helping Beatrix Potter in her search for presents and a mission to rescue Jemima Puddle-Duck from Mr. McGregor.

Enjoy a 50-minute live immersive experience, meet Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle and shop for all things Peter Rabbit! If you’re looking for something special to do this Easter, this is the perfect option for families and fans of the most beloved rabbit in children’s literature.

FUNDRAISER AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL


A special one-off charity fundraiser is happening at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday 15 April to raise crucial funds for War Child and The Turkey Mozaik Foundation, following the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

The show will feature hosts  Jumoké Fashola and Halit Ergenç, an exclusive live performance by the newly formed Solidarity Ensemble formed of Turkish, Kurdish, Arab and Alevi musicians from Turkey and Syria as well as appearances from British actors Olivia Colman and Gugu Mbatha-Raw and comedian Omid Djalili. It will be a beautiful tribute, to a worthy cause.

HORNIMAN SPRING FAIR


Visit the Horniman Museum & Gardens on Saturday 8th April and join in with seasonal fun and games at the Spring Fair! Enjoy live music, crafty workshops, bubble performances, face painting and much much more.

The Spring Fair will be compered by comedian Jasmin Gleeson, who will be providing fun commentary throughout the Fair as well as hosting the Easter bonnet parade, so there is something for everyone at this year’s spring fair.
