What's On in London August 2021


London is finally reopening, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Now that restrictions have eased in the Capital, you can get back to discovering the latest art and museum exhibitions, tick off that world-famous attraction you’ve always wanted to visit, and take the family to that trendy new pop up!

Buckingham Palace and Garden Tour


Buckingham Palace, home to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, is now open to the public for their annual Summer Tours. Inside this royal residence, and the highlights of the tour, are:

  • The Throne Room (often used as a backdrop for royal wedding photos!)
  • The 19 beautifully decorated State Rooms (used for official functions)
  • The magnificent Grand Staircase.
  • Fine pieces of art (including works by Canalette, Rembrandt and Vermeer)

You are also able to see the stunning Palace Grounds and Rose Garden, which are open to the public to explore freely for the very first time!

Van Gogh Alive at Kensington Gardens


Having dazzled over 8 million visitors in 70 cities worldwide, Van Gogh Alive is gracing us with its presence in the heart of one of London’s most beautiful Royal Parks – Kensington Gardens – until September 2021!

However, this is no ordinary art exhibition… It’s an immersive and multi-sensory experience, that gives visitors the unique opportunity to truly venture into Van Gogh’s world. You will be surrounded by a vibrant masterpiece of light, colour, sound and fragrance, as you watch his work come to life.

And what’s more, you will even get the chance to walk into a life-sized representation of ‘Van Gogh’s Bedroom’ – one of his most famous pieces of work, and perfect for a photo opportunity!

Scenes in the Square


If movies are more your style… Rediscover some of the nation’s best-loved characters and iconic film scenes in the heart of Leicester Square, with an interactive trail of statues.

‘Scenes in the Square’ features classic and contemporary characters, which are brought to life in the evening with an impressive symphony of lighting. This trail is perfect for the whole family, and can be enjoyed with or without the accompanying soundtrack – narrated by TV’s Alex Zane.

So, whether you want to marvel in the magic of Harry Potter, discover daring Super Hero’s or bust into song with musical star Mary Poppins, make sure to check out the incredible scenes, before they disappear!

Royal Style in the Making at Kensington Palace


Whether you love admiring glittery gowns and stylish tailoring, or have an interest in royal history, make sure to visit the new and limited-edition exhibition ‘Royal Style in the Making’ at Kensington Palace.

It’s situated in the newly-conserved historic Orangery, and explores the intimate relationship between fashion designer and royal client. You’ll be able to admire and discover the process behind the creation of a number of the most important couture commissions in royal history. These include Princess Diana’s wedding dress, and a rare surviving toile for the 1937 coronation gown of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother; consort of King George VI.

This captivating exhibition will run until the 2nd of January and includes a few surprises for you fashions fans!

Morning Yoga at Sky Garden


The only thing better than morning yoga, is morning yoga with a view!

36 floors high, set among luscious tropical greenery and a backdrop of incredible city views, Sky Garden is the perfect location for a relaxing yoga class.

This class is suitable for all levels and abilities, so you have absolutely nothing to worry about! You can enjoy a dynamic, vinyasa flow-style yoga every Saturday and Sunday, at 8:30am. Your ticket also includes access to the beautiful Gardens, Darwin Brasserie, and the Sky Pod, so you can explore and refuel, ready for your week ahead.

Pop Up Screens


Fancy a movie night with a twist? Pop Up Screens is an independent popup cinema bringing incredible outdoor screenings across London.

All you need is something to sit on, from blankets to deck chairs, to enjoy some of your favourite films. There’ll also be food, drink, and popcorn on sale to complete the ultimate movie experience (from stalls facing the screen, so you won’t miss a thing!). In August, you can expect:

  • 1st of August at 21:00 – The Greatest Showman – Hilly Fields, Brockley
  • 27th of August at 20:15 – Bohemian Rhapsody – Manor House Gardens
  • 28th of August at 20:15 – The Greatest Showman – Manor House Gardens

Gold & Glory at Hampton Court Palace


Have you ever wondered what it was like to live in the Tudor period?

Well wonder no more! Hampton Court Palace have just recently launched a new exhibition called ‘Gold & Glory’; an immersive experience into Tudor History, filled with lots of un-seen Tudor treasures.

You will get the chance to admire works of art, gold, weapons, manuscripts, and clothing from the Field of Cloth of Gold, in the very rooms built for Cardinal Wolsey – Henry VIII’s chief minister.

This fantastic exhibition runs until the 5th of September, so you have plenty of time to visit! Guests are also asked to book in advance.
