All You Need Is ‘The Hari’

Begin your day of discovery at The Hari, home to a one-off exhibition featuring never before seen images of The Beatles! Available now until Saturday 2 April 2022, the display by Art Vinyl showcases 48 candid photos by renowned pop culture photographer, the late Tommy Hanley (one of the few to spend time with the Fab Four over a span of thirty years).

Anyone is welcome, so grab a tea or coffee and admire the remarkable un-seen images.

Just down the road in Knightsbridge, you will find Whaddon House; the former residences of George, Ringo and once again Brian Epstein. This building remains famous owing to a legendary party hosted by Epstein in 1964, which saw the likes of Judy Garland, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards in attendance! It was also here that the fab four met before travelling to Buckingham Palace (the next stop on your tour) to receive a special surprise from HM Queen Elizabeth II.

By now, you’re probably a little hungry! So, head to ‘La Pastaia’, a restaurant previously known as ‘Dougie Millings & Son’, a master tailor renowned all over the world as The Beatles exclusive tailor. It was here that John Lennon asked the tailor for “something different”. What he created was one of the most distinctive items in The Beatles’ wardrobe – the collarless suit. So, although you won’t find the original tailors, you can have a bite, wondering whether the Fab Four might have sat in the exact same spot…

Speaking of EMI Music, the Abbey Road Studios and zebra crossing should be another must-see on your mini-Beatles tour! You can re-create one of the most iconic images of Fab Four, which appears on the cover of the Abbey Road album. The zebra crossing is located just outside Abbey Road Studios, where The Beatles first auditioned for EMI Music and recorded nearly all of their albums and singles dating from 1962 to 1970, including influential albums; Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and of course Abbey Road.
