The Beatles Exhibition at The Hari

Begin your day of discovery at The Hari, home to a one-off exhibition featuring never before seen images of The Beatles! Available now until Saturday 2 April 2022, the display by Art Vinyl showcases 48 candid photos by renowned pop culture photographer, the late Tommy Hanley (one of the few to spend time with the Fab Four over a span of thirty years).

Anyone is welcome, so grab a tea or coffee and admire the remarkable un-seen images.

Brian Epstein's Final Home

As you’re already in Belgravia, it’s a must to admire Brian Epstein’s final home. The former Beatles Manager moved into this house in January 1965 and hosted many memorable events, including the release party for Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band as well as hosting selective journalists and broadcasters from the music and national press.

At the very least, you’ll appreciate the beautiful curb appeal of this famed building!

Whaddon House

Just down the road in Knightsbridge, you will find Whaddon House; the former residences of George, Ringo and once again Brian Epstein. This building remains famous owing to a legendary party hosted by Epstein in 1964, which saw the likes of Judy Garland, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards in attendance! It was also here that the fab four met before travelling to Buckingham Palace (the next stop on your tour) to receive a special surprise from HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Buckingham Palace

Retrace The Beatles’ steps from Whaddon House to Buckingham Palace! In June 1965, HM Queen Elizabeth II appointed all four members of the Beatles ‘Members of the Orders of the British Empire’ (MBEs). So not only do you get to visit a place close to the Beatles’ heart, but you also get to see The Queen’s official London residence and the stunning Palace Grounds and Rose Garden.

Dougie Millings & Son

By now, you’re probably a little hungry! So, head to ‘La Pastaia’, a restaurant previously known as ‘Dougie Millings & Son’, a master tailor renowned all over the world as The Beatles exclusive tailor. It was here that John Lennon asked the tailor for “something different”. What he created was one of the most distinctive items in The Beatles’ wardrobe – the collarless suit. So, although you won’t find the original tailors, you can have a bite, wondering whether the Fab Four might have sat in the exact same spot…

The EMI House

Now you’ve got your energy back, be sure to make your way to The EMI House. It was the headquarters of The Beatles’ record company – EMI Music, from 1960 to 1995 and a backdrop to a few of their iconic albums, including Please Please Me, the Red Album and The Blue Album. Dozens of iconic pictures were taken against the railings at the front of the building, on the spiral staircase, and across the road in the leafy, park-like environs of Manchester Square itself.

Abbey Road Studios and Zebra Crossing

Speaking of EMI Music, the Abbey Road Studios and zebra crossing should be another must-see on your mini-Beatles tour! You can re-create one of the most iconic images of Fab Four, which appears on the cover of the Abbey Road album. The zebra crossing is located just outside Abbey Road Studios, where The Beatles first auditioned for EMI Music and recorded nearly all of their albums and singles dating from 1962 to 1970, including influential albums; Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and of course Abbey Road.

Paul McCartney's Current London Home

Just a five-minute walk from Abbey Road Studios is one of Paul McCartney’s lavish mansions, belonging to him since 1966. Due to its proximity to the studios, The Beatles frequently used this house as a meeting place before and after recordings. Although he owns properties all over the world, it’s not unusual to see him browsing the shops and pubs on the nearby St. John’s Wood high street… So, keep your eyes peeled!

Back To The Hari

There are plenty of other famous and iconic places where The Beatles made their mark, but that’s for another day. Just as your feet are beginning to ache, make your way back to The Hari to unwind in The Hari Bar, with a glass of wine, or one of our signature Art Cocktails.

With a tipple in hand, make sure you take one last look at the exhibition adorning The Hari walls… You might even find yourself appreciating them that little be more.
