London's Best Outdoor Activities Summer 2022

Soak up the summer sun and breathe in some fresh air with a selection of London’s best outdoor activities and greatest green spaces.

From taking a dip in the Serpentine Lake to exploring a floral oasis at Queen Mary’s Garden in Regent’s Park, there is something for everyone.

Below are just a few of our favourites!

HYDE PARK

The possibilities at Hyde Park are endless.

If you want to cool off, be sure to go swimming in the Serpentine Lido, hire a pedalo on the Serpentine Lake, or dip your feet in the Diana Memorial Fountain, a tranquil monument built to honour the late Princess of Wales.

The little ones can enjoy fun and games with a delicious picnic near the Hyde Park Playground, or the more peaceful surroundings of the beautiful Rose Garden.

While the more active members of the public can make use of the Hyde Park Tennis and Sports Centre, which includes football pitches, a putting green and a space for lawn bowls.

The Ice-Cream Project at The Village Hall

Located just next door to The Hari, is the Anya Hindmarch Village on Pont Street. This little village is made up for multiple different stores home to all sorts of wonderful and quirky projects.

However, the most wonderful of all and perfect for this summer heat, is ‘The Village Hall’ – a shop that transforms into something new every couple of months. Currently you can expect to see ‘The Ice Cream Project’ which is serving up scoops of ice-cream which celebrate favourite cult food brands – from Heinz Baked Beans to Lyle’s Golden Syrup. They’re surprisingly delicious!

THE REGENTS PARK

There is lots to see and do in The Regent’s Park.

You can take a stroll through the elegant flowerbeds in the Avenue Gardens, see more than 12,000 roses in Queen Mary’s Gardens and take in breath-taking views of the London skyline up Primrose Hill.

If it get’s a little too hot, you can hire a rowing boat and join the ducks on the boating lake, perfect for cooling off. The park also provides a warm welcome for wildlife, home to around 100 species of wild bird and a breeding population of hedgehogs.
