What's on in London? February 2024


February is the month for all things sweet! From discovering London’s romantic side, to celebrating Diva’s at The Victoria and Albert Museum and enjoying stacks of delicious Pancakes, you are guaranteed to have plenty to do throughout the month.

Valentine's Day Couples Hunt


Combine exploring London’s best landmarks with the celebration of love with this romantic Valentine’s Day Couples Hunt. Loved up couples will have the chance to wander around London looking for clues to help decipher a rhyming love poem, with each answer leading to an item that can be used to complete an array of exciting challenges. The romantic hunt is perfect for any couple who fancies doing something a bit different this Valentine’s Day!

The Big London Bake


Carefully pick your baking partner and dust off your apron for the ultimate baking competition, courtesy of The Big London Bake! Lead by top patisserie chefs, this is a chance for you and your partner to learn new skills, or rather, hone your expert craft. During the British Bake-off-esque experience, each team will have 90 minutes to bake and decorate an edible masterpiece. One lucky team will then be crowned winners, taking home a sizeable prize!

Life


One of London’s prominent landmarks, St Martin-in-the-fields will be hosting ‘Life’, an outstanding light and sound experience. Continuing on from ‘Space’ last year, this immersive exhibition projects an outstanding sound and light show onto the outside of their buildings, as well as in the underground crypt, concluding with a bang in the church itself. Bring along your loved ones and experience this adventure through the sky, land and sea.

Diva


Step into a pair of dazzling shoes and fabulously transform yourself this February, thanks to Victoria and Albert Museum’s latest exhibition, ‘Diva’. Ranging from the likes of Tina Turner and Adelina Patti, the exhibition celebrates some of history’s most iconic figures. During your visit, celebrate many amazing icons, and discover the constantly changing meaning of what it means to be a diva – whether that be on stage, in popular music, film or opera.

Scenes in the Square


Love film? Scenes in the Square may just be the perfect afternoon activity! Located in Leicester Square, movie buffs have the chance to fully immerse themselves whilst discovering some of the nations most iconic characters. From the classics such as Laurel and Hardy and Mary Poppins, to modern marvels such as Mr Bean and Batman, this free trail is guaranteed to be fun for the whole family. To make it even better, a free audio walking tour is also available to make sure your journey through the scenes is truly unforgettable.

Battersea Power Station Light Festival


Located in and around the iconic grade II listed building, the annual Battersea Power Station Light Festival is not one to be missed. Running until the 25th February, the free trail comprises of seven unique and wonderful light art installations from budding artists making their UK or London debuts. Think: illuminated blue butterflies, giant diamonds and a giant playable piano. Once you’ve had your light fix, enjoy a range of music performances and workshops fit for the whole family.

Valentine's Day at The Hari

Pancake Day at il Pampero


Fan of sweet treats? Pancake Day may be just for you! Take a seat for breakfast in il Pampero and indulge in stacks of fluffy goodness. Chose from a sweet selection of flavours: sugar and lemon, blueberry and maple syrup and caramelised bananas and Nutella. If you are too late, do not worry – The Hari bar will also be serving the sweet treats in the afternoon.

Lunar New Year Parade


The Chinese Lunar New Year arrives in February this year, with London’s annual parade taking place on Sunday 11th February. Kicking off at 10:15am in Trafalgar Square, the parade is expected to be full of thousands of excited people celebrating The Year of the Dragon. Expect amazing dragon and flying Lion dances, a Lion-eye dotting ceremony, firecrackers, incredible martial arts performances, street food, plus extra special feasts taking place amongst Chinatown’s most delicious eateries.

'Anya Says Walk' Concept Store


British luxury brand, Anya Hindmarch, has opened their most recent concept store, ‘Anya Says Walk’ in Anya’s Village on Pont Street. The hiking-esque store celebrates Great Britain’s national mapping service, Ordnance Survey, who have been brilliantly mapping our nation since 1971. Inside the store, discover a capsule walking collection consisting of walking accessories and cosy knitwear, plus activities and events designed to inspire the inner hiker within us all.
