London is officially in full bloom! Springtime has firmly arrived in our beautiful capital, bringing with it a sense of excitement for the long, sunny days ahead.

From chilling out with a novel at Books in The Park, to jamming out at Brick Lane Jazz Festival, there is plenty to do in the capital this month.

So, what are you waiting for? Show some love for London and the amazing places that make up the city, by reading our ‘What’s on’ guide below:

Little Egg Hunt


The little egg hunt has officially returned to the beautiful neighbourhood of Chelsea! In collaboration with the Royal Charity, Elephant Family, and Clarence Court Eggs, explorers of all ages can discover 12 beautifully decorated eggs, designed by the likes of Anya Hindmarch and Philip Colbert, up until the 15th April. To make the family affair even better, the hunt is designed to generate vital funds for on the ground wildlife conservation projects, whilst at the same time making art accessible to all through this free installation.

Earthfest


Taking place on the weekend just before Earth Day, non-profit organization Camden Clean Air Initiative are hosting their first ever sustainability event, Earthfest. On the 20th and 21st April, the general public will gain free access to a number of spectacular events, including workshops, immersive exhibitions and keynote speakers, all of which will be discussing issues surrounding our climate. Labelled as the ‘Glastonbury of sustainability’, come along and immerse yourself in sustainable fashion, eco-art and earthly inspired music.

London Coffee Festival


Calling all coffee lovers, between the 11th and 14th April, head down to Brick Lane to test your knowledge on all things coffee. Immerse yourself in a range of exciting activities as a thanks to their extensive weekend itinerary; catch an interesting talk in the Lavazza sponsored ‘Lab’, watch the pros in action at Latte Art Live, or take a seat at Coffee Masters, a head-to-head competition to see who will be crowned the ultimate coffee master. Alternatively, grab something a bit stronger at the Hyde Park Bar.

Brick Lane Jazz Festival


Yet another festival is returning to the eclectic music scene in London, once again taking place in the east of the city. Between the 26th and 28th April, the Brick Lane Jazz Festival, in partnership with jazz charity, Tomorrow’s Warriors, will showcase a range of established acts in the jazz scene, as well as some exciting up and coming artists. Pick from a list of unique venues along Brick Lane and chill out listening to the likes of Ezra Collective and Moses Boyd. This is not one to be missed!

Ceramic Art London


Back for its twentieth year, international ceramics event, Ceramic Art London will showcase the most exciting ceramics from across the UK and further afield. Located in Kensington, the weekend long event will host the intricate works of over 100 ceramicists, all with their own unique styles. Whether you are an artist or a seasoned collector yourself, or simply just a fan of beautiful contemporary art, come along and help celebrate global craftsmanship; you may even meet The Great Pottery Throwdown host, Rich Miller!

Books in The Park


As a nod to The Hari’s love of books, Books in The Park at Beckenham Palace Mansion, Lewisham, will celebrate the wonderful and expansive world of literature. With nature as its running theme, the festival will showcase books which use natures power to heal, inspire and bring communities together, as well as hosting an exciting range of activities fit for the whole family. Take a seat and listen to a talk by an accredited author or comedian, join a writing workshop, or take part in a scavenger hunt.

London Marathon


The iconic TCS London Marathon is back this April, taking place on Sunday 21st! From 08:30am, watch the action unfold over four races, including the gruelling Women’s and Men’s 26.2 mile race around the capital. Make a journey to one of the many iconic landmarks along the route, such as Tower Bridge, The London Eye and Buckingham Palace, and try to catch a glimpse and cheer on some of the 50,000 brave marathon goers in real-time. This is truly an event not to miss.

Player Kings


Known for his iconic roles in The Lord of The Rings and Hobbit film series’, Sir Ian McKellen is taking the stage once again, this time being for a Shakespeare adaptation. Directed by Robert Icke, the play will follow his own version of ‘Henry IV’ parts one and two, combining the two separate plays in an exciting, action-packed way. Playing from the 1st April until the end of June in Noël Coward Theatre in Covent Garden, watch McKellen take dramatic lead in the role of dissolute knight John Falstaff.

In The Round Festival


Returning for its seventh year, discover the diverse and eclectic music on offer at In the  Roundhouse Festival, a 10 day long festival taking place between the 18th and 27th April. Expect to see a unique line-up of acts, exclusive shows and collaborations, as well as immersive gigs, designed to bring you even closer to your favourite performers, which include the likes of Sam Amidon, Lucy Rose and Kate Stables (This Is The Kit).

The Classic Car Boot Sale


If you are a lover of vintage cars and vintage fashion, The Classic Car Boot Sale is the one for you! Taking place in Coals Drops Yard, Kings Cross on the 27th and 28th April, the sustainable market is the perfect place to pick up something one of a kind, whilst also enjoying the beauty of vintage vehicles and live music from the 20s all the way up to the 80s. Fashionistas and vintage collectors alike will not want to miss this.
