What's On in London? May 2025


In May, the city bursts into life with vibrant colours, lively energy, and a full calendar of events.

Whether you’re strolling through London to visiting the iconic floral displays during Chelsea Flower Show, or attending one of the many outdoor festivals, there are so many things to see and do this month.

Chelsea Flower Show


The renowned and historic RMS Chelsea Flower Show will be taking place this month, between the 20th and 24th May, showcasing spectacular floral displays and gorgeous garden designs, as well as some very exclusive shopping.

New this year, Monty Don (and his beloved golden retriever, Ned) will be making his debut as garden designer at the show, Tom Massey and Je Ahn are returning with a climate-resilient garden that will harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the famous Chelsea Pensioners will have a garden of their very own; transforming their distinctive scarlet-red jackets into seat cushions!

Belgravia in Bloom


Celebrate the start of the social season with a visit to the annual floral art show, transforming the streets of Belgravia from 19-25 May, which will be embellished with unique installations, each telling its own unique story. The theme for the festival is “Through The Seasons” featuring vibrant flower arrangements representing spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

Enjoy The Hari’s own display, as well as their limited-edition cocktail menu, featuring four specially-design cocktails inspired by each season. In-house guests will also be treated to floral surprises in their luxury guestrooms.

V&A East Storehouse


On the 31st May, the long-awaited V&A East Storehouse is officially opening to the public! V&A East Storehouse is a unique new museum experience which allows the public to browse archives from the historic west London museum including books, objects, artefacts, and an entire space dedicated to the legendary musician David Bowie. With half a million works, it’s a sourcebook for your creativity.

Also, If you haven’t already, be sure to visit The Cartier Exhibition, featuring more than 350+ precious jewels, including the Williamson Diamond brooch commissioned by Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. A once-in-a-lifetime display of old-world glamour.

Fitzrovia Quarter Wellness Festival


From May 12th to May 18th, Fitzrovia quarter is organising its first ever Wellness festival. Coinciding with Mental Health Awareness Week, the week is planned with the aim to promote healthy practices for both the body and the mind, in partnership with beauty clinics, fitness studios, and wellness centres.

Each day participants will focus on a different aspect of wellbeing. Think expert-led treatments, free rooftop fitness, curated brand activations, and next-gen experiences from some of London’s leading wellness names.

London Craft Week


London Craft Week is in it’s 11th edition, filling the city with over 400 events, including exhibitions, installations, and workshops, all dedicated to different types of crafts. Spanning disciplines such as metalwork, ceramics, textiles, and furniture design, the festival not only showcases diverse creative talents but also supports the preservation of traditional craftsmanship.

Discover events such as a Masterclass in Tailoring by Hackett London and the craftmanship of the Capucines Bag by Louis Vuitton, as well as the Sloane Street Series – The Art of Craftsmanship. Whichever you choose, it will be another triumphant festival.

The Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta


The Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta is (hopefully) returning to Battersea Park and is on standby for Sunday 11th May!

Each year up to fifty hot air balloons take flight across central London raising awareness and funds for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, which has made over £250,000 to date. Leading the launch is the official Lord Mayor’s Appeal hot air balloon which carries both the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress – it is a sight to behold.

VE Day 80th Anniversary


Commemorate the end of World War II with four days of events marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. The commemorations will kick off on the bank holiday Monday, 5 May, with a Military procession from Whitehall to Buckingham Palace followed by a flypast of current and historic military aircraft including the famous Red Arrows. Alongside this, the the Tower of London will once again be surrounded by 30,000 ceramic poppies.

On the 8th May, a service will take place at Westminster as the nation comes together to honour and pay tribute to the Second World War generation.

The IWA Canalway Cavalcade


One for the families! More than 100 boats moor up in Little Venice this early May bank holiday, for the annual celebration of London’s waterways.

IWA Canalway Cavalcade will take place from May 3 to May 5 and will have see an abundance of boats decked out in bunting and other colourful decorations. Live music is going on all weekend, along with food and drink stalls and an ale bar to keep everyone well refreshed. Visitors can also comb through the many stalls selling crafts, canal-ware and clothing. It truly is the perfect family day out.

Kensington Dollshouse Festival Summer Show


The London Dollshouse Festival is a family-friendly event that welcomes artists from across the world, who specialise in all aspects of miniatures. Every year, there are 170+ craftsmen exhibiting. From a grand, fully decorated mansion to humble clothes peg & everything in between, it is a place for miniatures enthusiasts and collectors.

On the second day, the festival hosts a Gingerbread Craft Club, where young miniaturists can learn skills to make miniatures of their own! It is the perfect place for budding artists and creators.
